Who We Are
Unique Minds Initiative (UMI) is a nonprofit organisation founded in 2017. Our programmes are youth-centered, focused on creating sustainable impacts in Nigeria and globally, in the areas of Education, Career development, Leadership and Mentorship, as well as driving community-based sustainability programmes such as WaSH Advocacy.
Guided by our motto, “Creating the Change We Desire,” we are building a community of young people who are not just preparing for the future, but actively shaping it.
Our Objectives
Advance Quality Education and Empowerment: To empower youths with relevant knowledge, skills, and confidence to excel in education, career development, and lifelong learning.
Develop Leadership and Personal Growth: To nurture socially responsible young leaders who promote ethical values and drive positive social change within their communities.
Strengthen Employability and Career Readiness: To prepare youths for meaningful employment and entrepreneurship through skills acquisition, vocational training, mentorship, and capacity-building programmes.
Foster Community Engagement and Sustainability: To improve the quality of life in underserved and vulnerable communities through impactful, inclusive, and sustainable community development interventions.
Promote Partnerships and SDG Alignment: To collaborate with government agencies, non-governmental organisations, development partners, private sector organisations, and other stakeholders to promote youth empowerment and community development in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 3 (Good Health and Well-Being), 4 (Quality Education), 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation), and 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth).
