Empower the Future, Create Change

Unique Minds Initiative (UMI) is a nonprofit organisation founded in 2017. Our programmes are youth-centered, focused on creating sustainable impacts in Nigeria and globally, in the areas of Education, Career development, Leadership and Mentorship, as well as driving community-based sustainability programmes such as WaSH Advocacy. Guided by our motto "Creating the Change We Desire," we are building a community of young people who are not just preparing for the future, but actively shaping it. Our aim is to contribute to the realisation of the UN Sustainable Development Goals, and we believe that change comes with intentional actions.

Inspiring the Next Generation of STEM enthusiastic Girls

At Unique Minds Initiative, we are passionate about nurturing the potentials of young girls and empowering them to explore different career options in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. We do this by building on their curiosity, creativity, and research abilities—helping them see STEM not just as subjects, but as pathways to shape the future.  We develop programmes and projects tailored specifically for the young minds of girls, showcasing the various opportunities they can cease to overcome stereotypical traditions. OUR PROGRAMMES

Educational

At Unique Minds Initiative, Our educational programmes are designed wholesomely and executed to promote the UN SDG-4 (Quality Education). We are diverse and inclusive with our approach, ensuring our activities foster critical thinking, effective communication, and a broadened knowledge. We are also particularly interested in providing educational opportunities for out-of-school children. Our target is to prepare young minds for global representation, while ensuring that educational opportunities are provided for children in underserved communities in Nigeria.

Leadership and employmentability skills Training

At Unique Minds Initiative, we believe true education empowers young people to lead and thrive beyond the classroom. Our Leadership and Employability Skills Training equips students with essential 21st-century skills — from communication and problem-solving to teamwork, creativity, and emotional intelligence. We help young minds discover their potential, build confidence, and prepare for the world of work and leadership.

This program supports the UN Sustainable Development Goals, Decent Work & Economic Growth (SDG 8) — fostering a generation of skilled, responsible, and visionary leaders ready to drive change in their communities.

Career Development and Mentorship

At Unique Minds Initiative, we believe every young person deserves guidance that leads to purpose. Our Career Development and Mentorship Program helps students and emerging professionals discover their strengths, define clear goals, and make informed career decisions.

Through personalized mentorship, career expository summits, and practical training sessions, participants gain the confidence, clarity, and skills needed to build successful and fulfilling careers.

This programme empowers young people to thrive, lead, and contribute meaningfully to a sustainable future.

WaSH Advocacy and Community volunteering

At Unique Minds Initiative, we believe in service to community. Through our WaSH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene) Advocacy and Community Volunteering Programme, we empower young people to lead change by promoting hygiene awareness, clean water access, and environmental care in underserved communities.

By engaging youth in outreach projects, clean-up drives, and hygiene campaigns, we nurture responsibility, empathy, and leadership through action.

This initiative supports the UN Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Clean Water and Sanitation (SDG 6) and Good Health and Well-being (SDG 3) — inspiring a generation of changemakers committed to healthier, more sustainable communities
